ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) – THE FUTURE
Almost everyone has heard about artificial intelligence (AI) and how it is going to take over in the near future. The future, which is obviously now!
People who are likely to accept and embrace the changes from artificial intelligence are those who are open to new experiences and eager to learn. I’m sure you’re one of those who always ask questions, stay curious, and explore new things. Your curiosity brought you to this place where you can continue learning and developing in the fast-changing technological world.
It’s 2025, and the people on social media and everyone around you won’t quit speaking about AI. You’ll also hear names like DeepSeek, ChatGPT, RunwayML, GitHub Copilot, or Sora thrown around.
Most likely they are referring to an image generator or any other AI-related topic, if they are not discussing an AI video generator.
You’ve probably heard of those tools before, or maybe you’ve even tried one. But then it hits you that you might not have been using them the right way. Everything has a manual, right? And like that, you find yourself online, trying to learn more and to finally understand this AI that everyone keeps talking about.
Let’s walk you through what to learn as an AI beginner stepping into the world of artificial intelligence (AI). But don’t bounce just yet; there’s juice to be spilled. In this write-up from The AI Pico, we’ll be talking about the following:

What is Artificial Intelligence?
Let’s Break It Down:
Artificial mean something made or produced by human beings rather than occurring naturally, especially as a copy of something natural.
Intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.
Artificial Intelligence refers to the way in which technology made by human being are trained with applied knowledge and skills in order to function in the ways that’d be helpful to human being.
So, it allows technology to mimic humans in a smarter and more advanced way.
After having learnt about the meaning of artificial intelligence in layman’s terms. Let’s proceed to explaining the needs of artificial intelligence in this advancing world.
Types of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
There are different types of artificial intelligence based on the way they operate:
- Artificial Narrow Intelligence
- Artificial General intelligence
- Artificial Super intelligence
Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI)
It’s a weak type of artificial intelligence, and it’s only good at one task. It can’t perform more than the task it’s programmed for. According to Geeks for Geeks, ANI is the type of AI we see and use every day, from voice assistants like Siri to self-driving cars. It’s also considered to be the most common type of AI.

More examples include:
- Spam filters, which filter messages: Although it filters messages, it doesn’t read or understand the context of the message. Its only job is to detect unwanted messages and block them.
- Recommendations on YouTube: This allows YouTube to learn what you watch or like the most, which it uses to suggest more videos in that category for your viewing or usage.
- Facial recognition on phone: Phone Facial recognition that unlocks the phone by facial detection. Just like the ones on our iPhones and Android phones. Its only job is to unlock the phone and not figure out your emotion.
- Google Translate: This helps to translate diverse languages, which is its only task. It can’t have conversations with you.
- Video game bots: This one might play games with you, because that’s what its creator has programmed it to do. It learns how to be better at the game each time with its pattern and plays with you based on that. It can’t do anything else outside of that.
Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)
It’s the type of AI that’s equal to human intelligence. This type of AI would be able to think, learn and perform smartly. This is also called a strong AI. You might have one time or more seen this in movies.
Imagine AI that’s able to:
- Give counsel and guidance like a real human counselor
- Talk to you like a friend would
- Have a sense of humor
- Learn about things and play games
- The droids and AI in Star Wars and Mandalorian are also examples of AGI.
These are still but fictions, but scientists are still working towards it.
Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI)
It’s the type of AI that exceeds human intelligence. This is also called a super AI. It’d be faster, logical and more creative than any human.
It’s more smarter than all human brains combined. It’s even able to solve complex problems in seconds.
- Robots that can solve climate changes in second.
- Helps cure diseases and global problems faster than any human, which is impossible for human to do.
These are still theories though.
Examples of AI in Daily Life
We’ve all at one point in life been in contact with AI, just like the above-mentioned examples during our explanation of types of artificial intelligence. Be it with:
- Smart-Phones
- Customer service chat
- Cars
- Social medias
- Banks
- CCTV cameras
- Computers
It has become a part of our everyday life, than we often overlook. Ranging from;
- The alarm we set on our phone to wake us up at a determined time, which is an AI systems responding to our input.
- Customer service robots that gives instant replies before connecting to human service.
- Artificial intelligence in Cars helps to drive easier, faster and more comfortable. AI in cars are like Personal assistant on wheels.
- It analyzes social media activity to show more of the content you like or engage with on your timeline, which are the displayed more on your feeds.
- Banks also uses it to detect fraudulent activities faster than human.
- There’s Siri or Alexa which follow voice commands to make a call, look up some things or play a song.
- People also set cameras on countdown for shots, and AI programmed in them enhances the image.
- CCTV cameras that’s able to detect and gives off alarm for suspicious activity.
Why Artificial Intelligence Matters
We use it in our every day life. So, instead of avoiding it or thinking that it’s bad, we should start learning about it—before it learns everything about us. So, why not do the same.
Learning about it gives you the ability to leverage on it, and even help you advance in your work and offers better ways to display and present your ideas and talents.
Almost everyone has at a point in time thought that AI will take over their source of income. Okay! Not everyone but most people. Learning about artificial intelligence is the only way we’d keep up with the advancing world of artificial intelligence (AI). At THEAIPICO we aim at educating you about everything artificial intelligence (AI), Stay tuned as we proceed. As a beginner to AI, you’re doing great by reading this.
Not only does it helps makes Human works more faster and well organized. It does the following:
- Human Hazardous risks are reduced.
- AI does repetitive tasks without getting bored or tired.
- Early diagnosis of disease is detected by doctors with the use of AI.
- AI is always available 24/7.
- It also helps to reduce human errors in work.
Disadvantages of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Every good thing has their disadvantages, and it also depends on how we use it, so does AI. It causes the following:
- Displaces workers in certain roles—especially hazardous jobs.
- It is bias as the facial recognition might work better for some skin tone than others.
- The need to private data to personalize feeds or timeline.
- Building and maintaining AI systems costs a lot of money, making them expensive to develop.
